Curriculum

The FCC Curriculum

Our curriculum is based on our four key principles:

  • Inclusive – high-quality teaching for all learners.
  • Supportive – empowering staff through a supportive and developmental framework.
  • Nurturing– providing a safe and nurturing environment where students belong and can achieve.
  • Experiences – offering a range of opportunities that broaden horizons and develop the whole child.

Through a carefully sequenced, knowledge-rich and skills-based curriculum, we provide all learners with the knowledge, cultural capital, values and qualifications they need to achieve in education, employment and life beyond school.

Inclusion is the golden thread that runs through all aspects of our curriculum. We maintain high expectations for every student, adapting teaching to remove barriers and enable success. Our curriculum is underpinned by evidence-informed practice, clear classroom routines and rigorous assessment, ensuring that all students make strong progress from their starting points.

We seek to develop confident, resilient and compassionate young people who are equipped to contribute positively to their communities and thrive in an ever-changing world.
