Entrance Requirements and Guidance

A Level 6 at GCSE is a good indicator that a student will be able to successfully cope with the increased challenge and rigour of studying a subject to Advanced Level.  However, our entry requirement has a degree of flexibility to allow us to accept students who we believe have shown the necessary work ethic in Key Stage 4 but have gained a L5 in a subject they wish to study at A Level.  A major factor in students achieving success at A level is the effort and commitment shown during Years 10&11 continuing through Years 12&13

If you intend to apply to study A Levels at FCC you should be predicted to achieve a minimum of: GCSE L5 in English and L5 in Maths

GCSE L6 or higher in the subjects you have chosen to study at A Level (see subject specifications for full details )
