Annie Performance

This year's production was ‘Annie’. A truly wonderful spectacle that really was a ‘whole school’ production.

Across the three shows, over 100 students were involved, taking on roles both on stage and backstage. The lighting and sound were expertly operated by students from Year 7 to Year 13 and made the production look and sound fantastic. The students on stage also ranged from Year 7 to Year 13, and they put in the biggest team effort we have ever seen in one of our shows. The support and enthusiasm they showed towards each other in every rehearsal, and during show week, highlighted what talented, professional and kind young people they are. Students gave up their free time after school each week and in the February half-term break to prepare for the final performances.

The lead roles were exceptional and delivered outstanding performances; they were perfectly accompanied by our ensemble performers and principal dancers. We even had a special guest appearance from Teddy the (real) dog who played Sandy.

Our incredible teachers from Drama, Dance and Music show just how talented and capable they are when they pull together one of these masterpieces. The show wouldn't be possible without them but also the staff from other departments stepping up to support with costumes, the sets, sound & lighting, plus supervising and supporting backstage. Thank you also to the supportive parents and audience!

We will have another big school musical in two years' time, but in the meantime, we have plenty of dance, drama and music clubs to keep our keen performing arts students busy.
