FCC welcomes new Head, Lisa Barker
Faringdon Community College is proud to announce the appointment of Lisa Barker as its new Headteacher, who joined the school in September. Lisa brings nearly 30 years of experience in education and arrives with a clear vision to build on the school’s strong foundations and lead it into an exciting new chapter.
Much of Lisa’s career has been spent in Kent, where she held a variety of leadership roles across secondary school settings. More recently, she returned to her home county of Oxfordshire to take up the headship at FCC. Throughout her career, Lisa has been dedicated to raising aspirations, driving school improvement, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Lisa is passionate about FCC’s core values of Belong, Believe, Aspire, Achieve. She is committed to fostering a culture in which every member of the school community feels valued, supported and empowered, and where students develop both the confidence and the mindset needed to embrace new challenges and achieve their potential.
In her welcome to the school community, Lisa has set out her vision for the future: to ensure FCC is recognised as a Beacon of Excellence, delivering high-quality, inclusive education within a nurturing and supportive environment. She has also outlined the school’s “FCC Promise”, which pledges to:
- deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching
