Theme of the week is: The Future/Careers
The department has established several trips to help complement the curriculum, ensuring that students are given the opportunity to observe and experience different religious practices. In year 7, students visit the Neasden Mandir in London as part of the ‘Hindu Worship’ module.
In year 8, students visit the Masjid-E-Noor in Gloucester to complement the unit ‘The Five Pillars of Islam'.
At A level, students are taken to the popular Candle Conference Day which helps prepare students for their forthcoming exams as well as give students a flavour of university style lectures. Over the past few years we have been fortunate to welcome speakers from Life charity, to talk to students about their pro-life perspective which helps support the ethics side of the A level.
Each year, the RE department hosts ‘Prayer Space’, a week in which all students are taken away from their taught lessons to instead explore the space which is specially designed to help them develop skills of personal reflection. The week was organised and run by volunteers from our local Christian community.
