Course Status: Compulsory

 

Course Content

An examination of the current political climate in the UK covering the main social, 
scientific and cultural issues which affect our daily lives.

 

Lesson Style

The lessons mainly consist of group discussion.

Progressions Routes

A full A Level with 1 year extra study. Some Universities accept General Studies as part 
of a ‘Total Points’ offer but it depends on the University and the course.

 

Time Allocation: One to two hours per week taught time

 

Private Study Requirement

1 hour per week with one assignment on average every 2 weeks and an expectation to 
keep up to date with daily news

 

Extra Curricular Opportunities

Could be fieldwork, work experience, overseas visit, the opportunity to participate in a 
trip to Uganda.
