Exams Invigilator

Various Casual Hours Available
Grade 2; £8.49 per hour

We are looking to recruit invigilators to increase our existing examination team to ensure that we have enough staff for the busy summer exam period, which covers the months May to June. There are very few exams run at other times of the year, but if exams are scheduled, you may also be offered the chance to work at these times.

The times and number of hours that you will be required for work will be governed by the Summer Exams timetable and the number of students sitting each exam. There will be morning and afternoon exams scheduled, but not every day. The Exams Officer will manage the invigilators’ working hours to ensure that there are enough staff for each of the scheduled exams as required by JCQ.

The role may involve long periods of time on your feet.

Experience of working in a higher education environment would be useful, however the key personal attributes are:

  • Flexible approach to work
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a small team and individually
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to relate to academic staff and students

Training will be given and you will be asked to attend training sessions at regular intervals throughout the academic year.

Faringdon Academy of Schools is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and as such, successful candidates will be required to undertake a DBS check and complete safeguarding training as part of their job role.

An application form and post details, including a job description for the post, can be found below.
