At Faringdon Community College new students and staff are given and asked to agree that they read and understood an IT Acceptable User Policy (AUP).
Each student and staff member is awarded an individual login to a secure area that is password protected. At each login, the pop up window and desktop reminds every user of the agreement they made in the AUP.
In addition, installed on the College network is web and network auditing software that monitors use of the Internet, including the scanning and filtering of e-mails.
There are strict controls that prohibit the accessing of social networking, auction, chat, gambling, Instant Messaging and any other websites or search engine subjects that are deemed unsuitable for the students under our care.
As well as automated monitoring software, both staff and students are made aware of how to quickly report any instance where they think e-safety has been compromised.
