Food preparation is a skill which is highly valued in the workplace. This course is ideally suited to anyone who is thinking of entering into the catering industry or who will begin their working life as they leave school.
You will learn about methods of food preparation, safety and hygiene practices and regulations when related to a commercial kitchen, the role of various members of a catering team and microbiology when related to food poisoning.
This course contains a significant practical element. Therefore to successfully participate students and their families need to be highly motivated and organised to provide ingredients on a weekly basis throughout the two year course.
