About Us

Our Heritage
We can trace education in Faringdon back to 1825 when the National School for Boys opened. The first Secondary School started in the town in 1937 but it was in 1962 that Tollington Secondary Modern first moved to the current Fernham Road site. We became Faringdon Community College in 2000 and were awarded Specialist Engineering Status in 2003. In November 2013 we became a multi-academy school.

For our students
We aim to provide a climate where our students:

  • develop confidence in themselves and a love of learning
  • recognise and use their talents to the full
  • respect the rights of others and accept their own responsibilities in creating a caring and supportive environment
  • strive to excel and find a positive direction to take them into adult life

As an organisation
We are a dynamic organisation with a strong sense of purpose and desire to move forward. We have an ethos of development and growth with a high expectation of all those associated with us. As a team we continually strive to meet our next goal, aiming for quality in all that we do.

FCC is committed to excellence and pursuit of the highest standards. We are committed to:

  • treating all pupils as individuals
  • listening to our parents
  • working with and being part of the local community
